Product

Value : Reduced costs and enhanced natural ventilation for fresh air Recommended place of use: Building skins or facades ( Corporate buildings, Resorts, Hotels, Schools) Temperature drop : It varies from 5 degrees to 15 degrees centigrade Size: Starts at a standard size of 4 ft wide by 8 ft height and can be scaled up in height

Yes, you can adjust the temperature within the prescribed range in our product pages. Currently the adjustment cannot be made to our products, however we are working on adding this feature to our products. We’ll update you as soon as it’s ready.

It works but has a reduced efficiency if humidity is above 65%. However, we do offer techniques to help make the product more efficient in humid environments.

The basic requirements are essentially case by a case basis. There is no restriction on the minimum area. Directional issues can be handled using mechanical ventilation and retrofitting requirements depending on the project and are considered. For large facades, some retrofitting is required but for under-development projects, the system can be incorporated directly rather than as a second skin.

The process of installation is fairly straightforward for installations and can be installed on most structures. For facade integration, the installation process is determined case by a case basis, regardless CoolAnt installation doesn’t impart huge construction challenges.

Our system works via evaporating water on a terracotta surface. Such systems have been used traditionally in vernacular construction in desert climates across the world. You can find such implementations in Rajasthani and Persian architecture.

Evaporative cooling is a cheaper option than typical A/C systems, both in terms of material cost as well as power consumption. Furthermore, we have conducted a life cycle analysis of all the materials and processes involved in our system and the net impact of the materials, from the source of raw material to disposal, is lower than common A/C systems and for the materials, we have used. Along with better life cycle impact, components used can be nearly zero waste as all the materials are either recyclable or in the case of terracotta, can be disposed of without any environmental issues. In conventional systems several components like filters are ‘use and throw’ and they accumulate in landfills. Finally, when combined with water recycling systems, they provide good use of wastewater generated at a facility.

As the system depends on evaporative cooling, low humidity, high temperature and windy areas are theoretically the best places to use our systems. However water availability is critical to our systems and this factor must be considered before implementing our system.

Exact cost will depend on the specifics of the project, including transportation and other necessary interventions required. CoolAnt team can work out the cost based on the project.

As cooling is a by-product of evaporation which in turn adds moisture to the air, the humidity of inlet air can’t be controlled. However, in terms of human comfort, natural cross ventilation, ceiling fans, etc. can bring down humidity to a comfortable level.

Fans and ventilation systems can be omitted in windy climate, provided other factors like outdoor temperature and relative humidity are optimum.

Beehive, Binary, Aerofoil & Custom Installations: Please write to us with your specific requirement to receive an estimated cost budget.

Any region which is not excessively humid, and has decent water availability. The product works even in coastal areas albeit with severely reduced efficiency, if the relative humidity is above 65%.

Viability of the CoolAnt system depends on various factors, including the ones specified in climatic requisites. Other factors include building typology (not suitable for climate controlled environments), pre existing construction, scope of ventilation, etc. You can consult us for the viability of the product.

The transportation cost will depend on the size of beehive in a rough estimate the transportation cost typically varied from 10k to 20k

A facade is the outer skin of the building. A building skin is as important as the skin in a human body and functions in the same manner. A facade can regulate the amount of heat being absorbed by the building, and in turn drastically affect the heating/cooling loads of the spaces inside. The performance of a facade depends on materiality and design.

Yes, the entire facade can be fitted with a terracotta facade system, though it may require some structural considerations.

Apart from beehives (circular pots) we have a few options like linear units as well. Furthermore, depending on the scale of the project, it is possible to get custom made tiles. You can mail our team to get a better picture of geometrical options.

Generally it is the total surface area available for evaporation which affects the cooling performance, however geometric variants can offer other advantages like ease of construction, water management, solar shading mechanisms, aesthetic choice, etc.

Generally the system is assembled on site with individual components like terracotta units prefabricated. While it might be possible to prefabricate the entire system off site, depending on the scale of the project, it is not preferred due to logistical constraints.

Yes, as long as they don’t interfere with the functionality of the product, we can make the system as per clients' aesthetic choices.

Beehive: The standard size of a Beehive comes in modules of 4' x 8'. However, the size can be customised as per your requirement. Custom Installations: We offer custom installations for large-scale solutions. These are designed specifically for your requirement.
