These terracotta tubes are helping reduce ambient temperatures without harming the environment! How ‘cool’ is this invention?
This installation is a bespoke attempt to simplify and reinterpret the concept of air-conditioning, using computational technologies.
Monish Siripurapu’s cooling system may be based on the design of a beehive but inspiration didn't come while he was striding through fields of flowers
As the climate crisis makes the world hotter, people are looking to stay cool. By 2050 there could be thrice as many air conditioning units as in 2013
Created by Ant Studio, Beehive is a functional-art alternative to energy intensive cooling and air purification solutions.
It uses clay pipes and water to cool the air around it. Terracotta tubes are stacked in a metal cage. Water is poured over them twice a day.
This is a cooling system made of natural materials and having minimal impact on the environment
A team of architects from New Delhi crafted a terracotta cooling system that looks like a giant beehive. 🤯
