The Impact of our Solutions

In our Design thinking we made it an imperative to not just think about how the product works but also what its impact is on our ecosystem during life cycle and beyond. Take a look at the different ingredients that provide added value to our Natural Cooling Solution!

Electricity

Reduces energy consumption by upto 15%

Low Energy Consumption
The electricity that we use is a secondary energy source produced by converting sources of energy such as coal, natural gas, nuclear energy, solar energy, and wind energy, into electrical power. It is important to put an effort into having an in-house primary source of energy to create electricity. It reduces our dependence on external grid system for electricity and helps us avoid non-renewable primary resources.Though India’s dependence on non renewable resources for creating electricity has reduced from 72% in 2002 to 64% in 2020, we still have a long way to go. In current times, energy used in cooling systems forms a major part of the entire consumption of energy in commercial as well as residential buildings, especially during summer season. This is because of increasing dependence on mechanical cooling systems. Our products are developed to use minimum energy to provide maximum comfort. We also make an effort to make our product self reliable by proposing solar panels for creating electricity for the coolant to function. It is the need of the hour to value the energy we consume not just in terms of the financial aspect, but also in terms of its environmental impact.

Ancient Cooling

More sustainable cooling solutions

Ancient Wisdom to allow you to Cool even with No Electricity
Many natural cooling techniques have been practiced since ancient times. Ancient Egyptians would hang wet palm fronds in the window so that passing breezes would be cooled by the moisture. In ancient India, reed mats soaked in water were hung in front of doorways to achieve the same effect. Each of us has experienced that our ancestral house always feels cooler than the houses we stay in. Many ancient buildings include a second outer wall known as a “jaali.” Often decorated with intricate cut-out designs, these perforated walls also protected against the heat by adding an extra buffer zone around the building’s exterior.Over the years we have given up on these traditional and low energy solutions and instead followed modern and high energy solutions. We believe we can find better and more sustainable cooling solutions by reconnecting to ancient cooling systems. You might have observed that anytime you walk down into your basement on a hot summer day: it feels cooler. As we know, the ground has a natural cooling effect. Conversely, an underground or in-ground home also stays warmer in the winter as the ground radiates more warmth than the air above it.

Art

Contribute to keeping craft alive

Bring Art into your spaces!
Art is the expression of human imagination and skill, voicing important ideas and feelings. This might be the reason that Art was a part of Olympics till 1948. It is a strange reality that art has continued to exist since the beginning of human existence. We see the remains of cave paintings as an evidence of the history of art. At the same time Art is a very individual experience for each human mind. Each person understands, communicates and expresses art in an independent way. Oxford dictionary has 12 varied definitions of the word ‘art’. From Vincent van Gogh’s ‘The Starry Night’ to Banksy’s political artwork ‘Nepalm’, every strong art form is an expression of artists thoughts and a reflection of the community of its time. It is very important for us that our product, along with its functional qualities also becomes an expression of its times and its origin. Our product constitutes of components developed by local potters and assembled by craftsmen. Our product is more than just a cooling box exiting for its function. As so many artistic people are involved at every step of its making, its form is developed to look aesthetically pleasing along with resolving its purpose.

Terracotta

Back to earth post life cycle

Back to earth post life cycle
Terracotta is the art of creating glazed or unglazed porous forms and shapes from clay which is dried and fired in high temperatures giving it a distinctive colour. It is then covered in sand and allowed to cool down. It is a unique material bringing together four of the five vital elements – air, earth, fire and water. Terracotta has a unique ability of being solid as well as porous due to which it allows water to evaporate from its surface and provides a cooling effect in surrounding. The process is being used for so many years in earthen pots to consume cold water in summers without consuming energy. Terracotta has been used in India for centuries. Many artefacts were discovered from Indus valley Civilization dating between 3300 and 1700 BC which were made using terracotta. During those times the material was used to make god figures, cart, etc. All the figures were moulded with hand till the 4th century BC, when ancient Greeks' Tanagra figurines were mass produced for the first time. In addition to being a mainstay throughout Indian history, terracotta is a great element to use in its own right. For one thing, it is surprisingly versatile and can complement a wide range of interiors. Along with its unique way of cooling, it also looks attractive as a part of interiors materials. Terracotta is used in construction materials like tiles along with being used in many of the modern artefacts.

Natural Ventilation

Reduces energy consumption by upto 15%

Healthier Quality of Spaces
Natural ventilation has been a very important aspect of traditional building architecture. It enables the buildings to remove the stale stagnant air and replace it with fresh air. It helps in maintaining indoor temperatures and keeps the oxygen content of indoor air in control. It also enables flow of energies through our built spaces, taking away negative ions and replacing with positive ions. We can reduce the energy consumption by upto 30% in favourable climates, by providing proper natural ventilation in buildings. Our product promotes ventilation in a natural way. It collects, refreshes and redirects the air flow of the room making your surroundings cooler. All these factors along with change in air humidity, makes you feel pleasant. It cools the surroundings in a natural way similar to a breeze flowing across a lake. Unlike an Air Conditioner, which consumes the natural outdoor air and gives out hot air from the room, our solution redirects and freshens the natural air.

Carbon footprint

Reduced by 133450 kg co2/m3

Reduce the Environmental Impact of your Cooling Needs
Carbon footprint is the amount of carbon produced by a product during its entire life cycle. The life cycle and release of carbon by product can be divided in 3 parts. The 1st stage can be considered as the process of manufacturing and transport of the product till the consumer’s doorstep. The 2nd stage is the entire working period of that product and the amount of carbon it produces during that time is considered separately. 3rd stage is journey of the product after it is discarded by the user. It involves the way the product is recycled and carbon given out during the process. Carbon released in air forms CO₂ and various green houses gases when it reacts in atmosphere. Each and every product we see around us goes through this process and every product produces different amounts carbon along different stages of manufacturing, transport, functioning and recycling. As aware individuals we should be more conscious of the products we purchase and promote and should put an effort to reduce our carbon footprint on earth. As a startup, making products with low carbon footprint is our primary principle. Belonging to an industry which is a major contributor to carbon footprint through emission of green house gases and usage non renewable energy which in-turn gives out carbon in its production, we aim to bring a change through our products which can provide effective cooling with low carbon output. According to a study switching to natural ventilation and cooling has the potential to reduce the carbon emissions by 1.3Billion tons and we wish to be a part of that process.
